Third con, first report...
So yes, I am a loserfish, as this will be the first con report I've posted, despite being to cons before, for I have been to much of a hobo to type a single damned word about them before...
So many shiny distractions...
But this time I sit here waiting on the cab to the airport in the lobby with not much better to do so here I go.
I arrived Friday about midday, met Nazaryn at the airport (second life friend). The first stop was the overflow hotel... after doing two laps around the airport on foot looking for the shuttle to get there so it would be slightly cheaper than a taxi.
Weather was perfect, cool, not cold, and especially great later for cooling off after suiting.
Overflow hotel was the Hampton Inn and Suites. The hotel staff was very friendly and glad to see us weirdly dressed ear and tail totin' money bags. ;D
The shuttle between the Hampton and the Westin/Con Hotel was awesome. The drivers rocked, we'd drive up the road, van full of fursuiters, children in cares next to us all doing double takes as they stare at the van, people fleeing in terror, cars going offroad and exploding, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria...
So much fun already and we haven't even gone into the con itself yet.
Caught Kage and 2 Friday evening, funny as ever. Kage told his European New Year party story with Gunter (Verpiss dich!), 2 had some new material too, talked about what he's been through the last 4 years (Aw... man).
Bounced from their shows over to Whose Lion is it Anyway. Improv is always fun, especially when I get to get involved. There are likely to be videos on youtube, but I can almost guarantee sound quality will make it nearly impossible to hear almost anything being said, as such is the way of the personal video camera at a furry convention.
CAMERAMAN: And here we are at the Whose Lion is it Anyway bit.
EVERYONE IN THE CAMERA VIEW: (unitelligable noise)
CAMERAMAN: Hah hah hah... wasn't that witty? lol.
EVERYONE ELSE: (more noise, someone barks)
CAMERAMAN: Wasn't that a good sk-
KANYE WEST: I'mma let you finish, but...
At some point we remember to eat so we went to an Italian restaurant across the street, good environment, good food.
Saturday was a stream of panels, games, quips, remarks, interesting people, wandering the artist ally and dealer den (for the first time without the suit so I could actually see everything clearly), and dancing, oont oont oont, SWEET RAVE PARTY.
I do real a bit retarded about forgetting what time one of the shows was. I missed Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (your guess is as good as mine, I'm checking youtube later) which apparently was an awesome show.
Fursuit parade was also Saturday with 357 suiters. I was behind JR in his awesome bunny suit (JR was in his suit, I never entered JR's suit).
Sunday things started to wind down. Didn't do a whole lot. Saw Balto. The crowning point of Sunday was the peole I met, new friends and the like, so hey all you fuzzbutts that may be watching me now.
HEY YOU GUYS!
Next year's theme is Blues in Chicago (The Blues Brothers, Fuck Yeah!) and is going to be at the Hyatt 5 min from the airport... that place is huge...
And lastly I must yet again admit my own hobo-ishness. I haven't had a real working camera in awhile now so, yet again, I'm photo and video free. I'll be scouring teh intarwebz later for anything I can find and I'll throw any links I find into another journal or something.
So with no further ado, this is Kaz the still temporarily bald panther (until thanksgiving, bwaha!) signing off.
This report has been double cast on Livejournal and Furaffinity.
And now back to your feature presentation-
