Crazy week.
Firstly, the terrible heat and my health were simply killing me.
Secondly. I had a problem with computer freezes for a long time, mainly when I listened to Spotify. I decided to take my computer in for repair. The master found a problem in the ssd drive, it began to fall apart, and it was replaced. Then my second monitor adapter died, and I sat without it for 3 days until a new one was sent. Today, I got new 2 sticks of RAM, and also not without problems. And you know what in the end? The freezing issue hasn't gone away. But, after restarting the computer from freezing, it became even more "fun". My old favorite keyboard died (it was 18 years old and still from Microsoft), and at the moment I write this bunch of text through the screen. I don’t understand how it works when everything starts to break at one moment. I'm tired. I want to work, but because of this I can't. тОт
+ all the files with saving the work by layers are broken... To say that I'm sobbing is to say nothing, I don't know how I will continue the series of works on "Spectrum" now. All repeated elements on the background were stored in them.

Second, the first thing you should do is get a backup hard drive and save everything to it. Your computer repair guy can help if need be. This way, you're saving all of your critical files.
Lastly, don't be afraid to start up a fund to help you with your computer troubles. I'd be happy to chip in if you tossed me your paypal again. I still love the picture you did for me!
All my saves are on a separate removable drive, but that was not the problem. My SAI broke and I had to install a new one. Perhaps because of this, all files are broken, it opens them empty, although they weigh as normal, and the program shows their thumbnail / content.

SAI you say? Been there, try all the different versions you can get, probably one of them will work. Then export those files into some more common format and always keep such backups in the future. SAI may be funny with it's own files.
Also, your art is made with SAI? That's impressive o..o
Wish i could help with that computer. Random freezing is something more serious than just drives, suspect that master was not caring enough...
But guesswork from across a country won't help.
Yes, I have been drawing in this program for 13 years for sure ^^
I started with Photoshop, but then it broke down and was not installed on my computer for years, and I remained in SAI, now I can’t switch from it to other programs, it’s not convenient.
I will investigate further... hehe
Now always keep backups in some different format, just in case ^^
And I'm sad when people say that SAI is some kind of "low level" program for drawing. Yes, it is impossibly simple, but damn it, people who have a skill in drawing can draw a masterpiece anywhere. More advanced programs will just get the job done faster.
