Resident Evil wasn't supposed to be an instruction manual.

It is discomforting. When information, culture, and morality are filtered through corporations, not much good can happen. It seems like the playbook is to give the people what they want, and then gradually change what they want to align with other goals.

There is some hope, Disney in particular has lost so much money they're now selling off chunks of its corporation just to stay afloat. As it turns out, acquiring assets and then running them into the ground is not profitable.

One of the best judges of the character of a person, aside from how they handle disagreement with others, is if they apply the same standards when censorship is applied to opinions they don't like. Welcome to the future being brought on by people living on social media and using the block button as a way of life.

It’s a hell scape of its own making. Generations from those who were raised online rather then offline. It shows just how careless we’ve become.

It's just shown how many people truly are when they can avoid any accountability for being awful. To still seek to maintain standards of right and wrong in such an environment is something many people are not capable of because they cannot resist trying to force the world to be only the way they want it.

I like to think that big corporations are like gods or elemental forces of nature. You cannot talk with them, you cannot reason with them, they do not hear anything we say. The people who are working for those corps are simple gears and logic gates, stripped of all decision making, which trickles down from the untouchable Boards of Directors and the divine CEOs.

What you've been noticing, that people believe that these companies are on their side, is exactly that: belief. Like belief in a deity or a pantheon of divine beings who are ultimately unknowable. Majority believes that these entities can be reasoned with by offering them prayers and sacrifices, and they could be right. As deities, the corporations live off our metaphorical prayers, rituals, and sacrifices.

Only way to influence decision making in companies is to act. They are what we shape them into. Stop buying their products, stop using their services, avoid their influence. That is the only thing we can do: choose to build our life and roads around them.

I believe this was the case in all of the history of humanity. Few control the available resources and manipulate masses, from ancient civilizations through the dark ages to the modern times. The only major difference is now you know about it instead of accepting it sheepishly.

Can the masses do something about it? Probably not. If you magically overthrow the big evil corporations, other people easily step in and takes the role of a leader, owner, whatever, and take control of the resources. Also, power corrupts. The cycle continues.

This is all in human nature, and probably freaking impossible to change it.

With all that said, we still need to do something against it... Ignorance is not the answer. And what is the answer then?

This is a very evil side of 'Capitalism,' and began WAY back (I'm thinking the 'Silk Road,' and 'Spice Markets,' for starters).
I'm not sure how or if there's any way to put the brakes on it. If all the BS that happened with their COVID policies' horsesh*t, shuttering many hundreds of THOUSANDS of private businesses, and financially destroying millions of those Owners/Employees lives didn't wake people up? While simultaneously causing the profits/stocks of 'Big Box Stores' to hit stable orbit?

I doubt anything will.
