I've been trying to get a story published. Unfortunately, I have not found a publisher in australia that will accept manuscripts from anyone. I found one, but they didn't want my story.

So i googled on the web. no luck there till i found a publisher that looked alright. I sent my manuscript in, they said yes, and they have sent me a contract.

Only problem is, they are saying 'Pay us or we won't do it'. well, maybe not in those words, but they're asking for money to be paid to them for me to use them as a publisher. I don't have the money that they are asking, so i can't accept.

A friend of mine has told me about a site called www.lulu.com , which deals in self publishing. Basically, send them your manuscript, select a cover and art and such, and they'll put it on their register so that whoever wants a copy will get one printed out for them.

Only thing is, i am not confident in my own proofreading, and I don't trust my own art abilities to make a front cover. And i don't even know if anyone would be interested in the book itself.

So, i'm kind of stuck in a rut till something comes up. I'd like to get my book published, but ...yeah. I have problems.
