I now pronounce you nerd and video game.

So I stumbled across this the other day. http://tinyurl.com/yjpef7r
In summary: This (anonymous) guy had such strong feelings for Nene Anegasaki, a fictional character from Love Plus, a DS game I've never heard of, that he went to Guam and had an official pronounce them married. I have no idea why he chose Guam, maybe they'll marry anything to anything.
To be fair, I've seen stranger things, like the lady who claims she is married to the Berlin Wall, and changed her last name to "Berliner-Mauer", which is 'Berlin Wall' in German, naturally enough.
Now, I'm not exactly a riotous success when it comes to the ladies, but I'd like to think that I've got enough skill to not have to marry a video game. >_>
Thoughts? Witty comments? Any fictional characters you guys wouldn't mind waking up next to every morning?
UPDATE: This video http://tinyurl.com/y8bbtww includes clips from the actual wedding ceremony. I'm not sure why random letters and words are constantly scrolling over it. I'm also not sure why the nice lady doing the voiceover pronounces "Nene" as "neh neh".

It's really weird, that's all I know. :P
Besides, if this were real, imagine how socially inept this person must be, that a video game girl is the first girl to ever be nice to him.
It's a sad story. And that's without adding in kids, if only because I didn't want to figure out how that would work.
The thought of bringing a man/game hybrid into the world could get very complicated, indeed, and could cause quite a headache. Of the less squicky questions, when the game/wife goes into labor, do you take it to a hospital or Radioshack?
The world may never know... and with good reason.
-end really, really, really horrible joke-
Honestly though, it sounds like it's a publicity stunt. Either personal publicity or the corporation that makes the game is forking out money for him to do it.
As for fictional characters to wake up next to... lets see... that dragon from your "A Blue's Embrace" would be a nice one to wake up to.
Free cookie for you.
But what can I say, I have a thing for dragons, and I haven't seen much material on many female dragoness.
You did ask about general fictional characters, after all.
Just think of Jimbo's lesbian orgy dream from "Ainnit!" that includes Betty Rubble and Wonder Woman.
... and I quote...
"Wonder Woman was fisting a nun!"
