In response to the last question, Nala. ^^ But seriously, I can't help but wonder about how that would work. Was the video game programmed to say "I do"? (Probably not, according to how the article was worded.) A co-worker first told me of this and thinks it's just a publicity stunt. It sounds like it, and I wouldn't be surprised if sales of the game go up as a result.

Does it make a difference that this Love Plus sounds like one of those Japanese dating sims? So you're supposed to be attracted to them, or something?

It doesn't, because Japan is full of video games like those. I suppose one of them had to stand out, so it would make sense why such a publicity stunt would take place. Girls so realistic that you'd fall in love in real life?

Besides, if this were real, imagine how socially inept this person must be, that a video game girl is the first girl to ever be nice to him.

Unfortunately, they can never last. He'll start togrow bored of the same levels of gameplay and the thrill of winning each level will begin to fad. And in the mean time, the graphics for all those younger games will look better and better. Eventually, he'll stray. Maybe not for long, just one night with a sweet FPS. He won't be able to hide it. He'll still love the wife, but it won't be the same. Either she'll find out and he'll confess. They'll have an argument. He'll say he knows about her and the outlet. In the end, they'll decide that it's best to separate, even while he knows Love Plus will always be the first in his heart. They'll lose touch in the separation and he'll try for a relationship with a nice RPG, but his heart won't be in it. When he finally realizes his mistake, he'll likely find that it's too late. His one true gaming love has been removed from the shelves... forever.

It's a sad story. And that's without adding in kids, if only because I didn't want to figure out how that would work.

The thought of bringing a man/game hybrid into the world could get very complicated, indeed, and could cause quite a headache. Of the less squicky questions, when the game/wife goes into labor, do you take it to a hospital or Radioshack?
