I actually really LIKED it... i mean, not as good as some of the other powerhouse Pixars but...for the work that had to be done on it and all the incredible animation techniques, it was rather charming.

Forget the stupid, uncreative and mind-boggling cliche plot and its actually really good! :D

notable because its also the great Ralph Eggleston's final film before his death from a tumor. He and artists Thomas Gonzales, Amber Martorelli, and J. Garrett Sheldrew got a tribute at the end of the credits. Ralph himself was art director for so many things - Toy Story, The Incredibles 1 and 2, WALL-E, and FernGully: The Last Rainforest.

so yeah, fuck the critics and see this one for Ralph. ♥♥♥

People put so much work into movies, maybe particularly with animation, that even if they sometimes have obvious flaws, they can often be worth seeing.

i begged Leilani to see Encanto and at first she didnt wanna see it because it didnt sound good to her.......

now she cant stop watching it :D

Same with "Sing" and "Sing 2"...........

Haven't seen any of those. -I'm way behind on movies in general- But from what I've heard of Encanto it's probably worth seeing. As far as the Sing movies, I should probably see them because of my interest in anthro stuff, but I hate some of the music, although there are exceptions. I'm afraid that might have me squirming through to much of them.

be warned, you will get hooked on Encanto. :D
Probably more Sing than Sing 2... Sing is AMAZING.
i think see Sing 2 if you're a huge U2 fan as they did a special song exclusive to the movie called "Your song saved My Life" and it is a heart-wrencher.

I basically despise U2, for a number of reasons I won't bother getting into. I don't think they've done anything good since their first album, which wasn't really all that great either.

I've heard both of the things they did for Sing 2, and I think they're awful. I also really dislike Bono. There's at least one song in Sing 2 that I like a lot.

I haven't seen it , but from what I heard Zootopia supposedly did those story beats better.

I won't be able to judge outright for myself though as I am just outright done with Disney.

I definitely had a problem with the story beats in Elemental.
for those curious...since im a screenwriter...a story beat is like... a shift in narrative, those emotional twists and turns, or events, actions etc, that help move the story along. While i did like how some of the story went...i felt some parts of the film broke away. i liked the flashbacks but i find myself all the time wondering... okay, you come from the land of fire... was it really a good idea to come here, knowing all this was going on? :D fire and water, i got it.... but in the back of my mind the whole time, if water can KILL you.... why would you GO here?? :D

Yeah, you'd have to either be really brave, or really stupid, considering that this is a planet based on water, huh?

Of course fire has also been critical for our survival and prosperity though...

But of course the planet and the four elements were around long before we showed up and will be around long after the human race is forgotten, though.

i didnt think the movie gave all four major elements an even shot.... theres one very annoying tree boy (earth) who keeps trying to win Fire's affections and he's like....8. creepy.

Movie aside I do of course enjoy the dynamics of elements in of themselves, but I also preferred the idea that for example: Water and Fire don't really dominated each other always it's always a matter of which has more at that time.

I know it's not on topic but I love gushing over stuff like that. ^v^!
