I’m flustered like a fox without a sugar daddy. It looks like I’m not going to be able to find a cor i5 surface pro 9 with 16gb of ram unless I go to the MS store and then it’s not much cheaper than the cor i7 with the 16gb. So my question is this, do I really need the extra 8gb to run apps like Photoshop, ClipStudio, Corel Painter.
I’m still thinking of just going with the large iPad Pro and using it like a Cintiq off of my Mac Mini.
I know I sound like a pain but right now I’m very confused on what rout to take for my future plans.

Don't think you can upgrade to 16 if you got the 8GB
why use a PAD anyway? why not use a proper PC? for the price of both you get a well equipped PC. 8GB are very very low for anything graphical...
Curious, but what do you use?
Since I cant draw a straight line no idea how drawing art works but if I open hires pics such as pics from above from drones from existing plants or composites from the ground less than 64GB is a hideous pain but these pics have a very high resolution. if you want HD gaming 600 euros gives you a decent machine for HD, you have to lower the details for WQHD but its still possible. dont scrooge on RAM buy quality stuff cheap RAM can give you a really bad time and the diffference in price between noname and quality is so low its not worth the potential hassle (hazzle?). Proper cooling is important so dont buy micro boards and the corresponding tiny cardboard cases. And dont buy apple, if you buy apple you dont own it, apple owns it, and they let you bleed for pretty mediocre performance, and really bad User interface concepts. you cant repair it properly you cant properly expand it. I still use some components from my original about 10 year old machine in the new one. I tested Raytracing with Cyberpunk and a borrowed Nvidea 4080. More graphics Fidelity with raytracing was barely noticible during play and not really worth double price and half performance in my opinion. Add to that the highly questionable NVi attitude towards their customers... nope...
I finally found info on the SP9 i5 with someone doing art on it, but it was done only by one person. I found plenty on the SP9 i7. The when I was playing Red Dead Redemption on the Nintendo switch, I decided to see how well the i5 with 8gb could handle games. I saw them playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on the SP9 i5 8gb and the SP9 i7 16gb, and they both handle the game real well. I look that if a 8gb i5 can handle games like that, I should be able to handle the type of drawing programs that I'll be using. However it still up in the air of what system that I finally get. Thanks for your input.
