Advice about my dog

I need your opinion. I think my dog is overweight :0
His stomach is already nearly touching the ground
But until now no one in my family has considered any diet. I don't know if it's necessary or something, because he seems to be doing his fine too >.>
We already got one of those harnishes that we wrap around his belly to heave it up a little so it doesn't brush against the floor. So idk

Hm- I dunno then, what I would try and this is coming from someone with a dog and heart problems- try to see if you can feel their heartbeat from there? I dunno, I can try to ask my mother, she works in the veterinary industry
