I went to FanExpo
I've had visitors all week,
DCRabbit,
MaxBlackrabbit and
Henbe. It's been fun, a lot of video games and a break from my regular routine which is dull and depressing. We got out to Dave & Busters, checked some shops, and got downtown.
I forgot how much fun cons were, even one where it was largely not furry related. A lot of really decent cosplay, and a bunch of things in the artist's alley I wish I'd bought more of, and a few things I with I'd bought less of. Got to see some names. Was looking for my namesake, but he wasn't there this year. Picked up an Egyptian scroll, on Papyrus, of Sekhmet, but she's coloured as if she's Tefnut, so it's even better.
Intriguing highlight was some Pickle Rick Fudge, which tastes a lot better than one would expect.
DCRabbit was kind enough to do a sketch of my shark girl. Max brought his Xbox X/S and I got deeply lost in Forza Horizon 5 and Hogwart's Legacy, levels 24 and 11 respectively. Picked up a game controller so we could 3-player some old Xbox 360 games, and that was fantastic. We finished the D&D Tomb and Shadows over Mysteria, as well as Castle Crushers. Very fun watching Max's characters in Phantasy Star Online, he's collected some great costumes for them.
We stayed up late playing these games and chatting. Although one night we promised not to, turned off the game and talked until 5am about our Caribbean Woes and things that would make good Superman Stories. (Hint: Largely anything he can't punch his way out of). Caught up on some fan-friends' events, so para-social!
Finished up with a BBQ yesterday where nothing was burned. Too many wasps showed up, and three local friends so it was quite the party. Showed off my plants. Apparently I'm a Druid Class, what with the ancient animal companion and all the plants. My backyard is 5' tall Queen Ann's Lace and there's an 8' tall sunflower I planted at the foot of my driveway which opened up just for their visit. It has permanent bees and wasps.
Overall fun and a great time. I need to have people over more often.

One day I'd enjoy meeting the Max Bun in person, but if that day's meant to come I don't mind the waiting. For all I know we might've crossed paths at local cons here in town or Furry gatherings and I didn't know him, but that's neither here nor there.
Gotta say, I like his inference of Jenora's apocalyptic twerking in the face of ZigaZkunq's fearfurred and protestnik warnings. My starcat's rather good at ripples, as you know well enough. I mean, someone's gotta mind the reins when a cat of any size gets too darned big for her britches, even Zig Zag herself!

Ah, haven't spoken with Dronon or Pyat in years!
Jenora is great fun.
You are one of those friends, and you did not forget me. If anything, you gave me good and kind space, to trust in my ability to heal and not smother me. There is a balance there, isn't there, good wolf-brother? When you put your mind to it and know a friendship has two parts, that understanding usually finds you.
Dronon's been all right, spreading the level a bit but not unrealistic in method and sustained fact of the matter; he moved to Ottawa two falls ago, and while I am aware of the genera of his recent troubles- mostly because I am an old friend of his, as you are his in turn, and he or someone he cares about as he does us both would not be adverse to the gift of telling- I cannot profess detail beyond that as I've not asked it of him, or Jenora, who knows the full story but even though I could ask it of her on the Brass-mane's behalf I feel it would be an intrusion, mostly because he is for the first time in a while thriving, relatively-speaking and knowing himself positively, and that I do want to tell you and can at liberty.
He may not be whole yet, but he will be in time, and that's the most important thing as far as I'm concerned.
Jenora and I have by desire, intimate closeness and tightness of friendship and beloved bond kept close in touch, some here on FA but mostly on Discord, and here and there on FurryMUCK which is a treat I never expected to refresh in frequency, given how lean the frequency by regular users there on the MUCK is now. We are in touch on Telegram but mostly I avoid contact with her there if I can, as she uses it solely on mobile and requires its use for her RL work, her CSP plan has a set data cap and I would rather not burden her any further than I do. I would prefer her smiles to be whole and sunshine, the same she revels in seeing me share with her.
I've gotten back into the habit of frequenting my old friend Ed (Greenwood)'s writing workshops and recreational readings at the Lillian H. Smith on Spadina, or the Spaced-out Library with the two macrofurson lions stood out front. I pretend they want me to compliment their enormous feet, and they understand. It's our ceremony, going and coming, and they know their little wolf.
