I guess I forgot to mention here that I was away for a trip for a little over a week.
So yeah... for the fifth anniversary of our engagement,
Hamakei surprised me with a trip to Washington, DC. We had talked about going there someday, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. And I didn't know until after a short flight from Manchester in the UK to Dublin, Ireland. The trip to DC in a crowded Airbus 321 was perhaps the least enjoyable part of the whole trip, though I did manage to watch the "Super Mario Bros" movie and "Scoob!", neither of which I had seen before.
It was a busy trip. Lots of walking, sightseeing and visiting museums in the first couple days, after which we were joined by
KampieStarz and her partner Callie, and later in the day by
ZilchWoofs.
I arrived yesterday after a somewhat exhausting trip involving a trolley and a bus ride to see one final monument, then another bus and a train to the airport. Then a red eye flight across the Atlantic to Ireland, a short hop in a turboprop to Manchester, then a train and bus to our home. We brought a bunch of American snacks that are not available here in the UK. Still a bit tired from the trip. Catching up on a few things and house work before I get back to drawing and stuff.

Thanks. Jet lag wasn't much of a hassle this time, thankfully. I don't tend to get lagged when flying west, though the flight was a bit tedious this time because I didn't get much sleep the night before, and I had the middle seat. We had room to spread our things on the return trip, and I was able to get an hour or two of sleep, which is very unusual as normally I can't sleep on planes, plus I slept well the night before, so that probably helped.

Hey welcome back. Trips are always fun even if they can be tiring when they are happening.
