I've said this to folks in more candid conversations: all nations suck. Not on an ethnic/social level, but in how traditions and laws tend to benefit the ruling classes.

As a queer person who asks weird enough when I'm in disguise as a normie, I'll never truly feel comfortable anywhere I go.

For example, I had wanted to visit Poland and go metal detecting in the forests for cool stuff. But now that I see so much of that country is Catholic/conservative, I'm going to limit my eventual trip to a pilgrimage to Auschwitz.
