Focus on the Right Reasons
It's always a good idea I think, to focus more on the "right reasons" whenever one engages in any kind of "non-financial based" creative artwork..... be it drawings, paintings, writing, photography, or anything else like that.
And just do the artwork that you do for the enjoyment of it only; and not necessarily so much for any popularity reasons, or for likes, or notices, or any of that sort of thing.
And when I say this to you, I'm totally speaking from experience. As I found for myself that whenever I paid less attention to those sorts of "trivialities" (I guess we'll call them), that people often times link their artwork with, I found that I enjoyed things a lot more; and get much more personal benefit out of it.
And so, if one re-focuses on the enjoyment aspects of things, and on the personal benefits that whatever creative craft you endeavor in may bring to you, and you focus less of your time and energy on the social media, likes, or popularity aspects of things - you may find that your creative pursuits bear much more beneficial fruit to you in your life.
And so, if you're finding yourself flummoxed lately due to a lack of notices, or likes, or whatever..... then my advice (for whatever it may be worth to you) is to simply focus more of your time and energy on the right reasons.
And just ask yourself: "how does this (fill-in-the-blank creative craft) benefit me in a positive way and in a way that nourishes my personal well being"? And when you answer that question for yourself you'll probably have an excellent roadmap on what to focus on more of in the future.
I've had this philosophy myself from the very beginning on a personal level; and when I took this approach I found that those sorts of "trivialities" mattered a lot less to me, and my artwork was done for what I felt were the "right reasons" at that point.
It's some food for thought here, for whatever it's worth to you.
