Price: shy of 3K.
All that I buy from now on… is going to be much more valuable.. what I recover. Is going to be very important to me.

The $3 a month I pay for iCloud is negligible compared to what data recovery costs, and it's very transparent on iPads in particular, and apple devices in general. That may be your best bet.
