It's my birthday today
I've always struggled a lot with my birthday. Its a very difficult time of year and I always feel immense pressure and guilt around it. But this year I'm trying hard to be better. I've gone out with gamenight gang and had movie sessions with my buds. I'm doing a little better. I'm very thankful for the people in my life, and things have gotten easier over time. Here's to the coming year being even better than this one.

Second: I get it. Pretty sure most of us do. Once you get passed 21, the milestones stop and the novelty slowly begins to wear off.
Either that or you see one of these petulant man-babies announcing the plans for their "birthday week" and the novelty gets sucked out of it all at once.
28 was probably around the time when I got tired of people calling me up and asking "Do you feel 28 yet?" too. Now I barely even make a journal about it. Only reasons anyone knows what day it is at all are because A) an artist I've commissioned has theirs on the day before, and B) one of my favorite movies of all time very coincidentally released in theaters on that day too (and I don't even watch the DVD on the anniversary of it anymore).
If birthdays are something you struggle with, that's fine; you're under no obligation. Consider your freedom to give as much or as little of a number two as you want about it to be one of the perks of being an adult.
