The Emperor Has No Clothes

The Emperor has no clothes.
There, I said it. Boo and hiss all you want but you know it's true. The world is going to shit. It's going to shit because we're all stuck in this pretend cycle that cause XYZ is fine when it's not. If you criticize the cause you are a bad person. Just like in the fable, "The Emperor Has No Clothes", repeating the obvious lie is an act of virtue signaling. If you say the obvious, people think it is an admission of a lack of virtue. And they follow along because no one wants to be seen as lacking virtue. So the charade continues.
How could such a ridiculous fable ever make sense? Why would people fall into mass psychosis? That sounds absurd! Yet here we are. It's happening today. If you speak up against the absurdity you are attacked. Attacked by people that have nothing to be proud of except their ability to show how "good" they are. And backed up by a silent majority that are afraid to face the same wrath.
The Solomon Asch Conformity Line Experiment Study ( https://www.simplypsychology.org/as.....onformity.html ) is especially illuminating. In the study, a group had to collectively agree on an objective statement. Most of the group were plants. They were there simply to insist on what is clearly the wrong answer. Surprisingly, many of the study participants followed the crowd and affirmed an obviously wrong answer. Most people simply don't want to rock the boat and cause trouble and it's easier to agree with the crowd, even when the crowd is clearly wrong. There are some chilling conclusions to draw from this, but I'd rather not get into them right now.
Now to segue into a related topic: Speech. One way the Emperor's clothes are reinforced is through control of speech. Speaking out against the lie is often done via censorship. The modern form of this is deplatforming, also known as cancel culture. All to protect that precious virtue signaling.
What if the Emperor's wardrobe is real? Censoring people for trying to converse has chilling consequences. People far smarter than me and far wiser than I have explained why discourse should be protected and trying to claim that, in the past 10 years, we are more enlightened and know when speech is too dangerous to be permitted is ridiculous and absurd. And itself is a case of the Emperor having no clothes.
What can we take from this? Speak up. More people know the truth than you think.
