But this evening I have FINALLY seen all four Rebuild of Evangelion movies, dubbed!
Overall, an interesting alteration of events.

Oooo noice! I heard that series is extremely confusing unless you see the movies with the main series to understand what is going on half the time. All I know is it is about a kid who's dad forcibly signed him up for a human instrumentality project that includes defeating aliens called angels with mechs that also aren't exactly mechs and the kid unintentionaly causes the apocalypse at one point. I have seen a good amount of the episodes but not any of the movies so I hope I'm at least half accurate

Your about there. The Human Instrumentality Project is actually something that was going on behind the scenes of the fighting, but defeating the Angels is vital for those plans to come into fruition. As for the apocalypse, yep you're not wrong there. In fact in the Rebuild movies several world 'impacts' happen, well a few more then the TV series and their movies anyway. But yeah I'll say watching the original series/movies first would make a few things in the Rebuild movies make a bit more sense, even if they do wind up telling a slightly different story to the original.
