I don’t like Christmas because it’s just a selfish holiday. I’m on disability and get only $850 a month and I have to pay bills so I can’t really afford gifts plus I don’t know what to give people. One year I got extremely nice cards for my family and wrote really nice things in gold ink because I just didn’t have money and my mom immediately got pissed because I’m selfish by spending my money on myself instead of saving it to buy gifts for people. I didn’t have money because my cat had a vet visit and it was pricey. She also thinks since she gives me gifts I need to get her something even though I tell her to just get me a card. My dad understands my financial situation so he’s happy with a card. Luckily my husband isn’t hard to please and I got him something he’s gonna love even though he said I didn’t need to get him anything. But yeah. Fuck Christmas. People can never be happy with just spending time with family. It always needs to be a gift.
