I'll be closing my Patreon soon!

PRICES & INFO | TERMS OF SERVICE | ADOPTS & YCHSRandom bit of semi-important news for lil' ole Jimmu: I'll be closing my Patreon here soon, and I'll explain why!
I've been on Patreon for around 7 years, and while my Patreon has always remained a modest size, I definitely didn't mind the slight amount of income it brought. Doing the Patreon gig like how bigger artists do never clicked with me admittedly, but I was fine to upload full-res work of my non-commission art via Patreon and Discord as a thank you for the handful of folks that wanted to give me monthly support. The Patreon service itself offered bare minimum features (the Discord integration was probably the only thing I found to be notable), and they essentially act as a middleman whose service only offers brand recognition and a few features in exchange for taking a chunk of my Patreon payouts, so overall I wasn't majorly impressed with what they offered, but they didn't bother me during my day-to-day, so I went along with it.
That was until fairly recently. This year, Patreon began a campaign of messaging NSFW creators with an ultimatum: provide a photo of yourself through your phone or webcam (a fresh pic, not an old one!), a photo of your driver's license (front and back), and other information to prove who you are, and this was specifically an order that came down from Mastercard, who props up their infrastructure. I was perplexed by this, because I had followed their terms for 7 years, but was now getting shaken down for personal information in a creepy way that no bare-bones middleman service has any right to have access to. None of it felt right to me, and still doesn't feel right to me. I don't even think Facebook, Discord, or Twitter (X now I guess?) demands info to that degree.
I currently work full time on my own online sales business, as well as being partnered with a local collectible shop (which overall has been pretty successful, as shown by my semi-reduced art capacity in the last year or so, as much as I don't like being pulled away from art), and I've had a problem or two with being screwed over by credit card companies in a way that harmed my business, so I'm not very keen on complying with them, especially when it's a "we left you alone for 7 years, but do this now or we shut you down" kind of situation. You could say I already had a bad taste in my mouth with credit card companies to begin with, and now handing over a bunch of government-issued information to a glorified middleman service, at the behest of a credit card company, just feels way off to me. So out of principle for them overstepping their boundaries, this is why I'll be shutting down my Patreon. I can't rely on them to keep their service consistent (what little of it there is), and I can't trust them to be a good hub for any of my future exclusive content.
If there's enough interest, I may restart my SubscribeStar, because I don't think they behave like Patreon does if I recall correctly, so I may post about that soon. Also there are no doubt folks that don't have a problem with Patreon, and that's perfectly fine - support your favorite creators in the way you like the most, but I personally can't reconcile with this recent shakedown attempt after years of being left alone to do my work, so I'll be moving on. So that's about it, I figured I'd mention this to ya'll, but honestly this will not affect even 99.99% of you - I'll still be posting busty ladies as usual here on FA and X! That's all for now, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving, and expect more babes soon!
