The Dasonese coalition has disbanded, and Devaki uncovers intelligence from the Prodavians are planning an attack on the last free cities of her people. Khari learns of the whereabouts of her kinfolk, the Amalhe, and that they are being hunted by a dangerous, fanatical group bent on wiping magic from the world, turning upon their peaceful neighbours - the Zebrafolk, to start.
