Spamming friend requests like that is a great way to flag the system that maybe you're a bot. Try and refrain from doing that; you'll be fine. You can get the code and delete the text message, and you'll be fine. I know I'm a stranger but again Im saying you will be fine

I've been emailing support and I have a hunch that they realize I'm human, but they keep saying they can't take it off??? Apparently the first dude I got is the "highest" there is in terms of role in the company's customer service and they say they can't take it off??? Not only that, anyone could put a phone number in there and could've just stolen my account then and there because of this automated system.

Yes, I can do that, but the issue is - how can I verify it's not going to shoot my phone with a random verification code as soon as I try to login, or, if someone else tries to login into my account? The message it sends is quite anonymous, but it's not satisfactory to my concerns.
Not only that, I'm not sure to how long I'll have this phone number if anything happens - of which this anything may very well happen soon enough.

I know I can overreact, especially when stressed like I am now, but I have severe doubts that this is going to go well as I'm already in a complicated and strained situation with my mother (father out of the picture cause he was abusive lmfao). If I had my own phone and number, and a means of income to pay for it, then yes, I wouldn't be freaking out, but I don't, so I'm freaking out 🙃

I have feeling it has to do with easier advertising and tracking 🙃 I did not expect myself to ever be on the punching bag end of Discord customer service, hearing how bad it can get, over something admittedly silly and very easy to do without much warning to its consequences

I ended up using my number, but not with any ease or comfort.

See if you can remove it again as soon as your account is normal. I have a feeling it'll say something like "Add a different number first if you want to remove that number" though. Discord asks me to add a phone number to verify my... something, in certain servers who's owners apparently ticked a requirement for verified accounts. I never did it though.
