Agreed! I've never been big on identity death, its more interesting for them to reconcile what they are post-TF. Granted, hypno as an "easing into it" or plot thing can work, and new instincts/senses/lusts are great to incorporate, but I still want them to primarily be themselves at the end.

Yea I find it hard to build up a story if your just gunna erase the characters lol.

maybe! but a clash of minds would be very interesting, that is to say that before you were a human but a werewolf bit you, but escape from the werewolf, look at the full moon and begin to transform yourself into a werewolf, thus creating a new personality of yours. If you accept the transformation, you will be able to preserve your mind but if you fight that new instincts will be the ones that control you, turning you into a wild werewolf.

I always think of identity death and mind change as a cop out in order to wrap up the story. I mean I get it, it’s meant to be a one and done deal with no plans to continue, but it’s so annoying how some people end it. Like “and then their memories are drained away” or “they forgot their memories and (insert tf here) replace them with new ones”. Like come on! They have a new body, I want to them react afterwards to having a tail or a muzzle, and how will their friends annd family other people perceive them now. How do they like their new body. But most tfs just end it the mind change and it’s not as fun T_T.

Indeed. My favorite part of a TF is the aftereffect and what comes after. The mindwipe stories make for quite a sour ending.
