Dream Architecture

In my dreams there often seems to be an atmosphere in them which is established largely by the amazingly detailed surroundings which I somehow seem to remember with as much depth as the integral events which progressed the dream's plot. Because the plot is easier to retain a memory of and recount the details in words, I typically pay most of my attention to detail in these beautiful structures so that I can sketch them out later before they evaporate.
Here are some pictures from a location in my most recent dream.

I also have dreams where the architecture doesn't make sense, and often they give me a strange vibe, but I think they would be too complicated or scary to sketch out quickly. In some nightmares, the architecture also plays a role, but I only tend to notice it when I have a greater sense of my spacial surroundings (equivalent to real life, vs. the immediate "fog of war" one normally has in a dream).
Often times, the architecture in my nightmares occupies a non-euclidean space, and is therefore much more difficult to map out. (it would require a sequence of detailed, yet narrow-angle images, which would take quite a bit longer to draw).
Anyway, enjoy these pictures, and let me know if you have any questions seeing them makes you think of.

Unfortunately, internet fails to find any pictures from the interriors. But I'm lucky enough I should be able to find some photos from my own album (and perhaps some of the interrior from my memories).
More seriously, how do you manage to remember anything of your dreams? Do you draw the pictures immediately when you wake up, or do you try to remember what was inside to work on them some time later?
I'm having a hard time remembering even the slightest of the plot, let alone any kind of detail; it can get frustrating at times... And for some reason, I wonder, was the sandwich on the table of particular significance to you?
Most of the time, I draw these things right as I awaken so they don't go away. Being awakened abruptly or given things to do soon after waking up normally erases a person's dreams immediately; I believe this is a natural human reaction which is why if you want to have and remember dreams you need a good night's sleep and not be under a tight schedule. However, that's really only if you want to remember. Often times, people in stressful situations have a lot of nightmares because it's the body's way of preparing you for challenges ahead (usually requiring your creative, problem-solving skills, which is why they are put to the test allegorically in "nightmares")
My dreams are constantly changing. Flux dreams. The plot changes, the surroundings.. time of day. etc.
But what I find interesting is that if I sit and think about it long enough, I can recall what happened in a dream, how something looked, or even the color of the setting.
Idunno, I think it's because of my photographic 3D memory bit with the way my brain works.
