New Car

It was bound to happen and it did. I no longer have my 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. It served me well during the rest of my high school and all of my college days. It managed to survive being driven all around Hutchinson, Kansas, (and then Ulysses, Kansas) while I was working for Pizza Hut. It even managed to survive a Northeast Nebraskan winter! When we bought it in June 2003, there were 116,000 miles on it. I put an additional 76,000 miles on it, bringing the total amount to 192,000 miles.
On this past Friday, the 27th, I traded it in for a 2005 Ford Escape XLS. It was nice to have a small car for the past 6.5 years, but I was running out of room for things, mostly while traveling. I now have a bigger vehicle that gets just as good of gas mileage as my Pontiac, which is nice. Now I'm fulfilling the American dream by adding to my already existing debt (student loans) with a car payment. Cost of the new car: $7000 after a $500 trade-in. Suggested Retail Value: $8,615 (as of this morning at about 8:45 AM). It just past the 94,000 mile mark last night. Yay for car payments for the next 5 years...
