And I would be wandering the valleys below looking for unique photo's and softer places!

Is this formal climbing gear, or more freefrom?

I've only used gear when I was in the Army. All my climbing is freeclimb. I do a lot of it local but it's not mountain climbing... it's bluff climbing. Straight up over the river. If I get stuck I just jump into the river. If I reach the top, I jump into the river. Sometimes I climb back down but not often. Some of our bluffs can be crazy tall... 300 feet in places. It's a scary jump.

I will have to look about and do a little wander sometime, I know a friend who would totally go with me for this sort of thing.

A simple rule of climbing (applies to life as well) is; Don't climb anywhere you cannot climb back down. Honestly... climbing DOWN is MUCH harder and nerve wracking than climbing up when you're talking freeclimb. If using gear (rope and pitons) then down is easier. I think it's why many use gear rather than freeclimb. When you are hugging the face of a rock wall you can easily look up and see where your next hold is... and any subsequent holds (finding a path). But when going down, it's MUCH harder to do that. PLUS you are always looking down (can be scary and make you dizzy if not use to it)... PLUS you do a lot of 'toe feeling' about for the next hold as it's reversed going down. Going up it's all about the hands, THEN the feet. Going down it's all about the FEET, then the hands. So backwards. I've gotten stuck a few times both ways... it's always scarier going down.

Caveat... I go barefoot when I climb because your feet are just a different pair of hands when you climb.

definitely more of a rock scrambler than climber, gotten a few good shots in some rocky spots, but edges and heights tend to make me question my decisions a bit more.

You have a drone as well? Or how ever you made those flying shots, they were stunning - yeah, I would like to climb all those mountains as well :D

I do have a pair of gryphons which I send to lofty heights and have them take pictures and video for me Gryphons are such fun!

Sometimes if a gryphon is unavailable a dragon can substitute for flying camera operator ^.=.^
