I was personally without power/heat for 3 days and I lived next to a hospital. Texas's power grid is not hooked up to the rest of the country bc they refuse to take part (actually cannot maintain standards to be part of it).

Yeah it's not a pleasant place to be if you're not a white conversative male. My hispanic spouse has been told to go back to their country several times despite being born in Dallas. : /

Also DON'T live in Dallas. Literally anywhere else is better. Emergency response times are long, and PD can be up to 3 hours.
