Patreon!

Very excited to announce that I have opened a Patreon! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, originally planning to do it when I hit 2k on Twitter, then 5k, and now I’m doing it after 7k finally lol. I dunno, I just wanted to make sure I felt worthy of it. I still dunno if I do, but my friend encouraged me to finally get it going.
Obviously, you are not required to support me on there to see my art anymore. Art will be there first, but all finished artwork will still be posted here and my other pages as well. What other things WILL be there though, will be WIP updates on illustrations and animations, as well as polls for deciding what to draw next/what to include in drawings, etc. The tier info is over on Patreon, so I recommend going over there and taking a look! There is also a tier just for a tip jar :)
I feel kinda weird doing this for some reason, but I wanna do my best to not just lock my work behind a paywall. I rarely ever posted WIPs anyway so it’s not like I’m taking those away or anything, it’s just something extra for the Patreon, same goes for polls. I think Ive done like….1 poll over on Twitter, maybe 2 I dunno lol. I know some people get a bit iffy about artists keeping stuff on Patreon but I’m really gonna do my best to make it as fair as possible.
My plan is to have finished art hit Patreon 1-2 weeks early, it would kinda depend on the schedule and what I have ready to post etc. Not sure if anyone’s noticed, but I do not post on the weekends, since I’ve noticed posting on the weekends hurts a post’s reach on Twitter. There are lots of times where I will finish a drawing on Saturday and then wait until Monday to post it. With Patreon, I can post it there as soon as I finish it.
While I sorta figure it out, posting may seem a bit strange as I kinda stagger the releases to gradually work this new schedule in. At first it might be like, a 2 or 3 day lead on Patreon but I’ll work it up to the 1-2 weeks. I feel like that’s a pretty fair gap?
I know I’m kinda over-explaining it but I feel a bit strange doing this. I felt weird starting commissions too, so please bear with me a bit on this. I’ve never really been someone who thinks my work is worth being paid for and a lot of times I have a hard time believing people will even want to do this, I think partly cause I’ve never gotten a ko-fi donation I think “Well then why would people do Patreon” lol. I’ve had nice results with commissions though, and at this point I feel like this is a natural next step. I really have worked my ass off since July 2023 specifically, putting out 1-2 finished pics a week for the most part since then, so in some ways I do feel like I owe it to myself to at least have this option out there as well.
Plus, it will just help a lot. I’m not expecting to get many supporters, but every little bit helps. Now that the Christmas season is over, I’m going to be looking for a day job again so that I can afford to move out of my dad’s place. It’s super overdue and I need it for my mental health. I also plan to open commissions again sometime soon, just seeing what happens with the job first. If it looks like I’m not gonna get anything for a few weeks then I might open a few slots. However, once I do have a job, I wanna make sure I take on what I can handle in commissions while also not allocating ALL my art time to commissions, if that makes sense.
Anyway, I ramble. Again, support is not required but it is greatly GREATLY appreciated. There’s a few WIPs up on there right now, and they should be uploaded rather regularly as I work on stuff. That Toxtricity animation I started like, last October will be getting WIP updates (some of which are already there :P)
Thank you all for the support this last year. It’s all meant so much. If you want to support me, you can go here:
