PC problems πππ

Hi!
My computer was infected with a Trojan virus. It is so bad that it does not even boot the system, I can't just reinstall the system because I have some important files on the system drive.
I already have a plan to save the data, but I need to buy an ssd. I hope that important files were not damaged I don't know how long it will last unfortunately I won't be able to paint in the near future.
It looks like my 2024 is not going to start well...
I wish you all a good new year

You say it wont even turn on? If so it may be a rare bios virus but even that would turn on, just not boot, are you sure it's a virus and not an issue with the hardware. Either way you should be able to get it back and running. You would need access to another PC or laptop to generate a CD for you to boot from and check the hard drive. But for that it needs to turn on.

I'm sorry, I didn't express myself correctly! the pc does not boot the system. Yes, I am sure that it is a virus, because before that I was just trying to get rid of it :p

I can't restore the system from the restore point, and so far any attempts to restore have not been successful, I'm thinking of buying a small ssd drive to put a system with antivirus on it, then connect it to the pc and go through a full scan, and then I'll try to restore the old system again (if it doesn't work out, I'll just take the undamaged files)

That sounds like a good plan, scan it as a data drive from a working system. And when you get a chance to look at your files that way I would go into \users and copy the entirety of my account folder over to the new drive before trying to remove the virus just in case. This would also tell you if it happened to be ransomware you got if the files are unreadable. I sure hope not. Good luck. And happy new year regardless. This issue will pass.
