I have this feeling of intense dread.
I know the world is going to end this year.
Oh sure, it will begin and progress just like any of these years past. Some cool things may even happen!
But I suspect that about halfway through, the United States is going to collapse, and belligerents around the world will use it as an excuse to end the age of globalized peace that was won by World War 2.
I don't see anything short of divine intervention preventing this. I'm afraid many of us won't be here come this time next year.
I fervently hope I'm wrong.

Same here, though the world wasn't exactly at globalized peace after the Second World War, given that America backstabbed the Soviets after the conflict and caused the Cold War. I definitely believe America's greatest threats are from within, and think that wasting our resources on international conflicts that have nothing to do with us is a really misplaced priority. All in all, I really don't want to die as a result of our imbecilic politicians not even remotely trying to rectify the country's problems.
