2024 update!

Hey there, it’s been a while since the last time I posted here.
First of all, Happy New Year! 2024 would hopefully be a good upstart for all of us despite all the bad things currently happening as well as things that just happened as well. Lots of things that I need to clarify as to what made me slow down my art output for the past couple of months, as well as plans for the future and many other things as well.
To begin with, let’s run down to some of the main reasons why I haven’t been posting as much as I do for the last few months:
1. The current ongoing genocide in Gaza.
If you follow my Twitter, my stance on this is very crystal clear - I oppose the apartheid, genocidal, settler colonial entity of israel on their campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza and Palestine in general for the last 75 years, which was ramped up to an absolutely horrid degree after the Palestinian resistance rightfully fought back against their continued oppression on October 7th. Over 20,000 people in Gaza has been systematically murdered as we speak, most of them civilians, in which the majority are women and children.
With this, I have an unhealthy obsession of retweeting pro-Palestinian causes on top of my donations to Palestinian aid organizations and such, in the slightest hope that I could never stop talking about them, in a midst of an onslaught of Zionists and Western media in general dehumanizing Palestinians in social media, in an ongoing genocide. This, however, hindered my capability of doing arts to an extent as well. So hopefully I could still do both being active on Twitter as well as doing arts at the same time.
This is also the reason why I stopped submitting to deviantART. After Wix, a website design company headquartered in the apartheid regime itself bought the site, it should be a no-brainer that they will take either a neutral or pro-israel stance in this matter, which they did. With that knowledge, I shut down my Wix account, which housed my portfolio I made during a portfolio class in university, as well as my final project page alongside as well, and ultimately decided to stop using deviantART for posting my artwork. You can still see my old works there, but don’t expect me to upload anything more in the future.
Also I have to further clarify, that my explicit anti-Zionist stance does NOT mean that I am antisemitic. The apartheid genocidal regime have gone to great lengths in delegitimizing pro-Palestinian voices as antisemitic, including Jewish people who did not wish to have a genocide done with their name. These people and I recognize that Zionism is an extremely nationalist ideology and should not be conflated with Judaism itself. And Jewish people who oppose the genocidal settler colonial entity have my utmost respect among many other marginalized groups in this struggle.
2. I am a part-time livery creator for X-Plane 11/12 and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
I don’t know how many of you guys recognize me as such here, but I’ve been making aircraft liveries for flight simulator for years now. I go by the name asher_050100 on both x-plane.org and flightsim.to. I strive to make high-quality liveries for both simulator platforms and I’ve also been contributing to a local livery painter group in several of their projects.
These are my labor of love and meeting my local friends for doing such projects has been a favorite pastime of mine for the last several months. Even though the projects are mostly free and paid quite cheaply (given I often need to share the profits with 1-2 other people), I still enjoy making them so they can be shared with the flight sim community. As an Indonesian, my team and I naturally gravitate towards local airlines, albeit we did make liveries from international airlines recently as well.

3. Lots of unfinished sketches and flat colors.
Due to my added procrastination, I wasn’t able to color or shade multiple arts I have in my Procreate gallery. If you guys wanna see more flat colored art, or line arts, or even sketches here, please lemme know!

Well, that’s a mouthful! But don’t fret, I have several things lined down for this year going forward as well:
1. Commissions are still ongoing!
I have lots of orders currently in line, including a large one that I haven’t finished for months. So my priority for the next several months would be to wrap them up first! Because…
2. I’m considering to raise my commission prices for this year.
Given it’s 2024 and I have graduated from university with a degree, I’m currently looking for a job while simultaneously looking for opportunities to study abroad for my masters degree, preferably in animation.
With that, I’m thinking to make my commissions as a freelance job to an extent so I could at least replace the monthly funds I usually got from my parents during my university days. The price increase would range around +$10-15 for each category, but we’ll see about that according to the situation I find myself in.
3. Work on raffle prizes for my 400+ followers on Twitter are also still ongoing!
This has to be one of my most procrastinated projects of last year, so hopefully I could go for the remaining 3 winners in the next weeks or so! I definitely have the commissions on top of my priority list but hopefully I could get there!
4. I have a Bluesky account, as well as starting an NSFW one there too!
Given my constant political posting on my Twitter, I decided to relegate my Bluesky account for posting mostly artworks. You can find me at fishbirb.bluesky.social, as well as [b]fishy-birb.bluesky.social[/b] for my NSFW one, albeit I haven’t posted anything there, yet~
Keep in mind that I’m still uploading my lewd stuff to my NSFW Twitter at @fishy_birb too!
