so i took melatonin and had a dream
melatonin will absolutely fuck you in three directions when you take it before bed
the other night i dreamed i was stranded out of state cos my truck broke down because i tried charging my mp3 player by plugging it into my gas pedal--this shorted it out somehow and then my truck wouldn't crank
i just ran through people's back yards until i found some depot where they were hosting a brony convention and everyone there was like, incredibly tall for some reason and they were all on yoga mats while an instructor kept throwing candy on the floor in bowls
i was in there like "hey i'm not a brony i just really really need to use the bathroom here and i promise i'll leave" and the yoga instructor was like reciting some creepy fuckin infomercial about their program and i kept having to leave and run all the way back across the neighborhood to use their bathroom--cos APPARENTLY this was the only fucking bathroom in the neighborhood i guess
this dragged out so much and i am now remembering why i stopped taking melatonin for like a whole year.

FA+

also i just have the regular-ass OTC spring valley stuff in those lil green bottles
Also you should illustrate that sometime when you have say 2 months free. :D
10/10 would not recomend.
it's like a "fuck around, find out" graph, but it gose from 0 to 100, real fucking quick.
Melatonin is not a psychoactive substance whatsoever. It is a chemical which signals to your body that it needs to rest. Even if you fight it and stay awake through it, it's just a groggy time.
Before you go to sleep, you really should be planning WHEN you want to go to sleep, and then take it an hour before that time.
The only thing melatonin does to humans who consume it (5-10mg dosage), is make them feel lethargic.
It does NOT "fuck you in three directions when you take it before bed." The instructions literally say that it SHOULD be taken before you go to bed, and gives a time estimate on that.
In fact, melatonin products explicitly state on the labels, that it causes drowsiness, should not be taken before operating machinery, and is best taken before rest.
Melatonin does NOT induce dreams.
Melatonin does NOT cause hallucinations.
Melatonin does NOT fuck people up.
It is something I regularly use (extra strength at that) every night when I have to wake up at 5:00 a.m. for work the following day.
I have depression, which hinders the ability to dream.
I consume cannabis, which hinders the ability to dream.
I consume melatonin on work-nights, which makes my body want to crash.
I have consumed melatonin on a work-night, in which I had to actually stay up all night long to prevent the hourly overflow of a leaky faucet into a clogged drain.
Your wild dream was all you.
The melatonin just weakened your ability to stay awake.
Don't jump to conclusions. If you think it was the melatonin, get scientific about it. Do more testing, with and without melatonin. Tell a friend to give you a pill each night for a week, and to tell you it's melatonin, whether it really is or it's a placebo. Gather data.
Whatever, I'm biased as a geologist. You can science this before you say "melatonin will absolutely fuck you in three directions..." Because what you mean is, "I had an out-there dream and melatonin is a recent change in routine that I remember, but probably isn't the only oddity or factor in my life!"
I wouldn't be so defensive about my response, if a tinder match didn't fucking judge me for taking melatonin on work-nights. She believes that people who take melatonin have mental illness, and she wanted a picture-perfect thing. Sorry not sorry, humans will absolutely fuck you three directions when you take them just skin-deep.
Melatonin will just make it easier to fall asleep.
But sometimes those of us who need an easier time falling asleep, do deal with the head-static of our demons still running around in our heads.
Keep a dream journal, write that shit down asap when you wake up, and get into lucid dreaming. You can fuck furres in lucid dreams. Or don't. It's your head *shrug*
Additionally it was NOT a sudden change in routine as I've taken it for years up until recently; it helped me GET to sleep so I could have some degree of rest for work and college--but like back in 2014-2018, it still caused me to have some crazier dreams than usual. I'm unsure if it's due to my ADHD, if it's because I've been diagnosed and told that I exhibit behavior that of high-functioning autism, or if that's just random-ass brain chemistry.
But yeah, this was not intended to be taken so seriously.
How does geology validate my statements on this?
It fucking does. I'm a geologist. Still a little hammered, also a little stoned. Two geology puns for ya
Now, let's science/Spock this shit, because you're dealing with a Trekkie, too.
Did melatonin cause you to have some crazier dreams though? If you had already been regularly taking it, and then you started having crazier dreams, then logically, melatonin is unlikely to be the cause of the increased abstract nature of your dreams. If melatonin were causal of your more abstract dreams, you would have known very soon after starting melatonin. What you're describing is more succinctly phrased as "a spontaneous delayed reaction." And that's just not really... cause-and-effect.
Also, if you don't wanna take this as seriously as I feel like I'm not (whatever I mean by that; I've... consumed tonight~), then... I dunno, talk to a rabbit? There are plenty on FA. :P
Sorry, as a geologist, I get real touchy about where people may have gotten the science wrong, and I wanna correct them without sounding pompous or condescending. ^^;
Basically, I guarantee you 100% it was NOT the melatonin that caused your wilder dreams. More likely, you like seeing pony horsecock, you're subby, and yoga pants turn you on. I'm not judging, just lecturing. :P
At least I've gotten to watch your avater's huge tits bounce this whole time *shrug*
