Why would people want the day to change for Australia???

Because of the events of history unfolded upon the native indigenous people that happened many many decades ago, there is no point in whinging on what it was and accept Australia how it is now and while I really do respect indigenous Australians, there is no need for them or Australians on their side to take history too seriously because of what happened hundreds of years ago and everyone should know that the pride of Australia is celebrating as one nation and was made how it is today.

That's all that matters, all coming all together as one especially at this generation and I'd say keep the date as it is.

Yeah, upon seeing how you mentioned Australia Day, and how I looked into it, I got the whole picture behind the day itself as well as the controversy behind it.

And yeah, unfortunately there's nothing many people can do to change it and it's been occurring since the 1840s so, no point in changing it at this point. But I do agree to leave it as it is, even if others believe it should be changed.

I don't feel the same guilt either, but it still sucks that it took one war or one battle to take over the land itself. And in return having their old crafts and traditions destroyed and lost to time.

Either way it is celebrated and remembered to this very day, even if people today don't really like what happened in the past to want to change it and such.

Agreed, and oh boy, I wouldn't be shocked about how africans went through with islamic slave trades and such, not just the europeans).
