I love Simon Seville
Okay, Simon's always been my favourite Chipmunk, obviously - he's the clever one! But I've been watching the 21st-century Chipmunks cartoon for the last week (it's been playing all day, every day on a TV channel in this country) and, wow, it's really great! I should have watched it before!
And the thing is, my paternal hormones have kicked into overdrive - Simon sometimes comes across as so sweet and vulnerable! The episode "Love Song", where he's written a poem to vent his feelings about the girl he had a crush on, and then Dave finds it and makes it into a song and poor Simon is too embarrassed to admit he wrote it... well, it makes me want to hug him and protect him forever!
I get like this with fictional characters sometimes. They don't have to be little rodents with big glasses and lots of cleverness, they can even be grown-up humans if they tug the right heartstrings in me. I should probably make a list and identify exactly what the magic formula is, but I'm too busy imagining being Simon's big brother and taking care of him... ^.^

If you had any other chipmunks to compare would you get similar vibes for my chipmunk character Zeno Stacio? https://www.furaffinity.net/view/29248154/
I was scared or Dave and usually fonund Alvin's antics annoying and jerkish...
A show I discovered when I moved to Canada was Timothy Goes To School. In a pair of episodes, Timothy's friend Fritz moves away and this comes with many feels and emotions for the little raccoon. In the first episode they play together, their favourite game of assembling their shell collections in the sandbox. The next day Fritz reveals he's moving away and poor Timothy looks heartbroken. His teacher sees this and reassures him they can still be friends. Then, Fritz is sad too since he won't be able to play with Timothy anymore. After Fritz is gone, Timothy checks the mailbox for several days but nothing arrives from Fritz. Timothy is heartbroken again as he thinks his friend has forgotten him. (I know this feeling all too well). His teacher reassures him that Fritz is probably very busy with the move and he'll write as soon as he can.
Im the next episode, a couple of months have passed and school resumes after the holidays. Timothy misses Fritz and reminisces with most of his classmates. His teacher gives him an idea to draw his favourite memory and the rest of the class do the same. As they finish, there's a big surprise as Fritz arrives, having moved back.
I do like the Chipmunks too. Mostly I watch the movies, but my Dad did share the old records. In particular Ragtime Cowboy Joe stands out.
"ALVIN!!! WILL YOU PLEASE PUT THAT THING DOWN AND GET BACK HERE AND SING!"
Other cartoon characters that tug my heartstrings include Little Bear and Nutsy from Blinky Bill. Of course there is Tails but he's everyone's little bro (mainly Sonic's) Hehe ^^
