Sorry for no recent art & a small rant about my new job
2 years ago
I have a handful of things to post I just haven't got around to posting them yet
---
I started working dietary cooking food in a kitchen at a retirement/rehabilitation home
We have recipes to go by, I was told by my boss that we don't go exactly by the recipe & not by a little, by a lot
The kitchen never has but half or less of the things you need to prep & cook food, including spices & ingredients, also the oven half works
Even though we have a dishwasher I have to hand wash everything & yes the dishwasher does work
For some reason it's the kitchen's responsibility to take out the residents that want to smoke
Now they want to change the times everyone comes in & the food gets served, everything is an hour+ earlier & both shifts are cut an hour but we still have to cook for 30 people, clean all of the dishes & utensils we use, take a mandatory 30 minute break, take out residents that want to smoke, sweep & mop the floor, and now we're supposed to also deep clean everything everyday with 1 hour less
For the new morning times I'll have have to be there at 6am & serve breakfast at 6:45 for 30 people

Sorry to hear about your job. I’m on my second warehouse job and there so many things that irk me that are different from my first job. (People being horridly lazy; not having proper equipment on hand for the job.)
I can’t imagine what you’re going through, especially since you are interacting with people (who are hopefully not allergic to the things half-supplied at work). Making people who handle food take people in and out for smoking doesn’t sound sanitary. (Oof. I hate it when work places purposely ignore basic logic or safety concerns.)
Having a few chefs in the family, it's one of the worst kitchen setups I've seen
Also I hope it works out for ya, I know how that can be with lazy people, bad/non-existent equipment & things
