Welp, we're going to see how it goes. They no longer require an invite to sign up, so it's likely the scum of the earth will try to flood the place.
Remember: Bad takes are deliberate attempts to drive traffic to themselves. They may not be getting paid for it like over at Smell-ron's place, but they still want the eyeballs. BLOCK AND MOVE ON. If it's something particularly egregious (spam, racism, threats of violence, etc.) report them. Let's see how their moderation goes.
If Mastodon wasn't the Linux of social media, I'd encourage more folks to go there.
