There's a few I kinda recommend. Furrydelphia has had some really high highs for me in the past and geographically it's not super far from AnthroCon if you like the area. I'm a fan of furcationland in Portland, ME. Despite being a first year con it felt pretty lively and was pretty well organized. It's small but there's a lot of heart and the dealers area was pretty decent. It's in April though so I imagine it's probably too late to get into dealers there.

If you wanna be a big fish in a small pond then there's New Years Eve furry ball. It's about half the length of a regular con and even dealers den is only open for one day. It gets a lot of foot traffic for such a small con and a good dealers den table would probably stand out and get a lot of interest. Finally there's my local con Anthro New England, it's in the largest con in the northeast, and you get more eager spenders at that one since it also lines up with when most Americans get their tax refunds.

I think you could also do some spectacular aliens, lizardmen, furry "catstronauts" and so on. In the pictures from SciFi Valley Con I saw several fursuiters, so they're also a presence.

Some of the new things I'm working on well are perfect for sci-fi.
