Update on dog 🐶

EDIT: I was already aware that onions are toxic to dogs. I just haven't lived with my parents dog for over 3 years, so this kind of thing happened to slip my mind in the moment because people were arriving and I was feeling naturally my social anxiety. I saw someone trying to feed Jax (parents Jack Russell) a chip, which she can't eat hard stuff anymore because of her teeth. I looked for the softest food on the table, onion rings. A few minutes later I was like SHIT I know that onions are toxic to dogs and it had slipped my mind. Several of my family members who are very aware of dogs since they have them currently, watched me feed her a small piece of onion ring and did not remind me.
When I move out of my shitty apartment and can have the space for a dog like I've always wanted, I will have a list of toxic food on the fridge/somewhere I can reference like I do with my current pets at home, guinea pigs.
For the record, I have lived with a dog every since shortly before my dad passed away, up until I moved out with my fiance a few years ago. But I have lived around dogs for 95% of my life so far. I know what is toxic to them. But I had a slip of the mind. Why anyone didn't warn me in that moment I'll never know, but I am not blaming them and just thank the gods that Jax is a tank and is totally fine.
First of all, thank you to everyone who expressed their concern and sympathy yesterday, after I accidentally fed my parents dog what amounted to half of a small onion ring.
She is doing completely fine today! I think she knew I was scared because last night when I said goodbye, she followed me out into the kitchen. She had been asleep in her dog bed in my parents bedroom and wouldn't usually get up unless there was food or she had to pee. She was like see I'm fine don't worry about me. XD
I won't be making that mistake again!

And no, what I did was, I saw my relatives were trying to give her a chip which she can't eat on account of her bad teeth. So without thinking I looked a saw the softest food on the table: onion ring. A few minutes later, I was like SHIT onions are toxic to dogs. I was anxious and it slipped my mind
