Whoooooo! First Silent Hill game I've seen since Homecoming! And this one is actually quite fun! However, don't go into the game thinking it's a remake of the first game. It's a revision, a reimagining of the first game, using a different approach from the usual occult madness that usually inhabits the series.

It is a rather stark departure form the usual formula, and is rather short. However, the changes to the formula makes the game quite enjoyable. The psyche profile at the beginning makes it quite interesting, seeing how the world changes based on Harry's choices. It's interesting in that, based on the kind of person Harry is, he sees everything different. For example, whether Cybil is a nice, attractive woman, or hostile and mean. Because it's all based on his interpretation of events, even if say Cybil wasn't particular friendly or hostile, Harry interprets it as such based on his own mindset and psyche.

Also, the MUSIC! Holy shit the music! Favorite songs, hands down:

"Always On My Mind" (Duh)
"Hell Frozen Rain"

Srsly, go out and PLAY THIS GAME! After the medicore, but serviceable romp that was Homecoming, something deeper and more engrossing like Shattered Memories is nice.
