Two years of war
I didn't really want to talk about bad things, but this day cannot be silent - February 24. I want to share my memories of the war with you.
It's been two years since my family and I had to learn what it really means to be "afraid". Earlier this word did not have such meaning for me, but after the beginning of the war it seems to me that the past problems are nothing. I still remember how I was sitting in the basement of my apartment building while fighter planes were flying over it (the sound made everything shake) and shells were exploding loudly (for several hours). In such situations you look for salvation anywhere, you are ready to believe in anything. You think what you can do to save your loved ones who are sitting here with you now. But only in such a situation you realize that there is no salvation, and you are weak and your strength is simply not enough to protect your loved ones.
Nowadays it's scary too. Rocket attacks continue almost every day (Kharkiv and the region are subjected to constant shelling), as well as "Shahed" attacks. Especially often strong rocket attacks are on any holidays.
This has been going on for two years now. The war has taken thousands of lives of beautiful people. I could not imagine that this horror would last so long. Life seems to stop (because you can't make any plans because of the insecurity of tomorrow), you survive and dream of a brighter future. You work for that dream and wait for things to get better.
I have to work hard to help my family financially. At the moment some people in my family have lost their jobs again. In the state of war, the economy is unstable and therefore so are the jobs. And the prices of food and necessities are rising.
I sincerely hope that this nightmare will end soon. I do not want to get used to such abnormal conditions and to put up with "such" future.
Stay strong, believe in the best and appreciate what you have now. Stay safe .
