The Liberal government is proposing heavier sentences, new regulatory bodies and changes to a number of laws in new legislation to tackle online abuse.
The Online Harms Act, tabled Monday, proposes to police seven categories of harmful content online. Those categories include content used to bully a child and content that encourages a child to harm themselves.
They also include hate speech, content that incites violence or terrorism, content that sexualizes children or victims of sexual violence, and sexual content that is posted without consent.
In before the arguments that Patreon used to ban its stuff becomes canadian law...
...I think that includes Rape and non-con stuff like forced diapering too...
Less we have to break national security law to proxy into fa (without membership to FA...) to Veiw what little work we can...
...Fa isn't gonna deal with this...
They'll either drop ALL "babyfur" art or just kick out the Canadians to stay legal with the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR.
We have 2 Human rights cases that give some "expression protection" to us one from the OHRT and one from the ABHT.
I wonder how the Digital Safety Commission is gonna deal with this type of content...

FA+

He steps down after a non-confidence vote that triggers an election during a "Minority Government".
Or you vote the party off the top of the 'heap' during a regular election every 4 years
... I give it 3 weeks before it becomes law AS WRITTEN.
its not so much countries but sites that itll kill.
its either comply with regulations that have failed in every jurisdiction that has proposed them effectively targeting your entire audience....
...Or exit the jurisdiction that has the regulation.
...
The technical solutions for separating countries by content filtering rules is not technically or financially feasible for most sites (like FA) on the internet.
Or ban us to not be fined by canadian courts.
some artists may move. but the vast majority probably could not afford it.
Canada has gradually been crushing peoples spirits,
