Sup Peeps!
At the airport ready for my adventure in Orlando, FL. And as I sit here I wanted to ask you guys...
Any less known cool things to try or check out in Orlando or close to?
Obviously we will do a bit of Disney and Universal and we might check out Daytona beach, but I want to know what other suggestions folks might have. As much as parks are fun, I don't want to just do all cliche tourist stuff if I can. I might like to see Crystal River and see the manatees, too. I was thinking of Discovery Cove but the prices for a day pass is obscene (so is Disney and Universal, to be fair), so we might cut that out because I'm trying not to go into debt on this trip ^.^'
Let me hear any tips or recommendations you have!

Now as for places to actually visit... I can only really give general ideas/ vague locations because I have not really spent much time exploring Florida as I should. Just been working working working. x.x
As for other places to visit? We have a number of State Parks and Nature Parks that are also nice to visit and walk through if you do not mind walking for an hour or so in nature. Or maybe going down a lazy river if you feel like sitting down in a fresh water river and sitting around doing nothing for an hour or so beyond enjoying the company of those with you and again, nature around you.
But some places that come to mind are the Everglades and the Keys. Sure it is a couple hour drive to get to either one. But that's just because the interstate is full of idiots. But I am sure that's the same thing as everywhere else in the world. There is also St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States if you feel like going on a historical trip.
A couple nature parks are definitely on the radar. Kelly Park is almost certainly going to be on our list. We were eyeing the Keys and St. Augustine, but we'll see how much driving we'll be game foronce we get there. So far we are hard pressed to drive more than 2 hours one way butwe might be willing to go further. ^^
Thanks, Walking!
Speaking of which. Beware tolls! If you want to avoid toll roads. Update your map or what have you to avoid tolls! They only accept exact change for the few that still accept change. If you do not mind toll roads. Than getting an Epass is almost mandatory to get around. You can either get the sticker version which you attach to your car window or get the funny blocky device with suction cups to stick on your window.
I don't know if rental places give your cars Epass or not. But that is something you almost certainly need I feel unless you are already making sure your maps are avoiding all toll roads.
