At this point I'm afraid crypto may be the only solid way to pay for anything the super religious right find remotely objectionable. We need legal action or legislation to have payment processors remain neutral on transactions. It's. It like it's Visa or MasterCard themselves paying for any of it.

I've said it consistently since I was old enough to even have an opinion on the subject: big business/corporations, state politics, and religion of all flavours, should all three be at all times divided by giant electrified fences made from razor-wire... But apparently some people thought they could wield the One Ring for themselves and now it's in the wild...

I remember in the past during Covid when the Trucker protest happened here in Canada the left cheered when the government and banks froze the accounts of the people at the protest, while I disagreed with the truckers since there was a nasty virus going around, I still thought it was an evil thing for the government to freeze their accounts and in doing so made the truckers look better by comparison. It also got me thinking that this could set a dangerous precedent, what if I spoke ill or criticized Trudeau or protested would my account be freezed? Now here we are today only this time it's the far right Christians have essentially copied these actions by going to Mastercard or having their employees within to shut down Patreon accounts belonging to NSFW artists and now like you said the left is bitching that the same tactics they used against people they didn't like is happening to them, and instead of just saying NO MORE to cancel/consequence culture and just leaving those who they don't like alone and just ignore them like any sensible person would do, they're just doubling down instead like what every hive mind organization does who's leader thinks they can play god.

Quite: I've been pointing to this issue on the left for YEARS... basically since I got kicked out of it for criticizing the wrong movies (not exagerating)... The problem is that a certain species of intersectionalist/SJW/Moral Busybody, whatever you want to call them; believes in the concept of "no bad tactics, only bad targets" or "there is no truth, only power". I'm quoting people directly in both cases there before anyone tells me I'm not being fair in my criticism. They don't have a problem with authoritarian policies; they just want it to be them that gets to be "the decider", ie: the one who gets to choose upon whom those policies are inflicted. It's a concept called "repressive tollerance"; be tollerant and even protect bad actors on your side, inflict maximum repression on anyone who does the same but disagrees with you.

Problem is... Liberal representative systems only work if the people involved are approaching the process in good faith... and well: now a bunch of people on either side aren't; and when it comes to the right; I can't bloody balme them. Intersectionalist leftists are some of the worst human beings I've ever had to interact with: I've seen how they treat their "enemies", but more importantly; I've seen how they treat their "friends' or rather "allies": I've had people throw away decade-long friendships because I criticized the wrong movie, I've had people say they can never speak to me again because I didn't support a Disney product; this is psychotic; why would anyone want to approach THAT in good faith!?

So long as "mob rule" of whoever shouts the most is listened to; then well... no reason that YOUR preferred mob is the one that's the loudest; and anyone can raise a mob with enough effort.

So basically those of us who miraculously aren't part of these hive minds are still absolutely screwed either way because of these people, and we can't bloody do a single effective thing about it at this point.

Honestly I'm starting to expect literal bodybags to start piling up after a while of this.
