How I know I'm old
There's some posts I made on Discord that prove it.
(An earlier series of posts)
I'm having this feeling right now.
I don't know exactly how to describe it.
Like... a combination of nostalgia and looking back at naivete (both one's own and others), while wondering how the fuck things got this way and feeling unsure about what the future might hold.

Dad was driving around on some chores and we went past a ton of places I remembered going to as a kid.
Made me think back to the 90s and how so many of the people I knew aren't around anymore.
Grandmother on my dad's side died of lung cancer ~a decade ago. Grandmother and grandfather on my mom's side died of disease about 10-13 years ago.
We aren't talking with My aunt on my mom's side for personal reasons.
I remember visiting her house and my cousin was into Gargoyles.
We'd visit my grandparents (both sides) on various holidays. It was fun.
Not to mention some of the media back then (Cartoon Cartoon Fridays!).
And looking back historically, I felt like we had more of a chance to make things better than they are now.
I feel like the world has gotten a lot faster and more chaotic too.
Too much.
Heh, this was playing on the radio while we were driving now I'm listening to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QepffW3Tayg

I'm guessing you were thinking about old school friends?
It's always a mystery what happens to them after you spent so much time with them, and one day they all suddenly vanish.
I remember Gargoyles, they were super-cool, but was more of a Terrahawks and Transformers kid. :D
Like I said, it was family, and in general the missed opportunities I and the world had.
Keep the good memories close and don't dwell on the not so great ones. We can't change the past.
