The problems with "Monster Rancher"
I will admit; while those games have an overall GREAT basic idea? I'll point out what works, and what doesn't...so the creators of that franchise can do MUCH better.
I'll show examples of what DOES work for the overall franchise, from what DOESN'T. (In my opinion.)
Being a social game and/or idle clicker: DOESN'T WORK SO WELL
Any of those type of games are ULTIMATELY just greedily made garbage; enough said, there.
Especially when it makes people WAIT so long for gameplay, or encourages them to spend even MORE money, to play it.
Being available for iOS & Android OS: DOESN'T WORK SO WELL
Honestly? I feel that not only are the rules on game releases for iOS & Android OS super strict? It's gotten to the point where in many cases, they're finding excuses to threaten our rights to be creative. And here's also how I see those operating systems, for mobile devices.
iOS? It's stable, but WAY overpriced, and has limited capabilities, for what you can do with it...without softmodding help, that is.
Android OS? There's a lot you can TECHNICALLY do with it, but it's operating system is FAR more unstable, compared to most operating systems...even to the point where FAR more limited data and usage actually WORKS for emulated releases of such video games.
If the creators must release a video game from this platform onto a mobile device OS? Make it Tizen OS exclusive; that way, Koei Tecmo could have a site where people can simply download it onto their phones and/or tablets, when they already purchased the game, legally! (And no; once again? Social games and idle clickers are NOT a good idea...leave those garbage games for iOS & Android OS, for all I care.)
Being online only: DOESN'T WORK SO WELL
"My Monster Rancher", as well as games like "Monster Farm Online", being online only? They never work well for the franchise. Especially with a franchise that is not doing so well with the wider audience, for the video game industry.
Exploring various places just to get resources: WORKS WELL
Honestly? If that's done as an optional way to get certain monsters that you otherwise can't get, without certain disks? That would be a great idea to expand on replay value!
Perhaps these special monster subraces that require certain disks to unlock them? Have them be the rarest ones!
Generating monsters from optical disks: WORKS WELL
The only downside of the older games being re-released? Not being able to have the option to generate monsters from various optical disks...which would be a nice optional feature, really.
Besides; I feel that using text to generate monsters, (like most of the portable handheld game adaptations) as well as the use of optical disks...using a USB optical disk reader? THAT would make it more interesting.
Besides; if someone is unable to actually GET the actual optical disk, due to financial problems? Instead, give the player the option to go on an optional subquest, just to get it.
That weird anime from my childhood: WORKS WELL
Honestly? The farting attack removed outside Japan due to a bunch of karens in the United States that take entertainment too seriously, and making EXCUSES to threaten people's rights to be creative? Unfortunately, that's understandable.
The anime itself IS weird in many ways, but also quite hilarious in so many cases! (Heck, at least with it's ups and downs, it can easily be considered on the "so bad it's good" category, for the anime industry...being better than a LOT of criminally overrated anime, out there. Like "Code Geass", which SUCKS, and is just an excuse for the writers to be all "emo".)
The overall combat system: DOESN'T WORK SO WELL
The real reason why I stopped playing those games; the combat system is absolutely ABYSMAL; making "Street Fighter 1", "Shaq Fu", "Ballz 3D", and even the ORIGINAL "Dynasty Warriors" video game (a traditional 3D fighting game) suddenly look GOOD!
And no; I am NOT joking...the combat system is just a pain and a massive headache to deal with...it's tricky, but not fun!
If Koei Tecmo wants to rake in more money on this franchise? They should instead, go on a turn based JRPG battle system, that's strictly turn based battle based...that way, players can be SMARTER when it comes to battle, instead of HARDER!
Video game in the franchise being released digitally: WORKS WELL
And honestly? With how the franchise isn't NEARLY as successful as it used to be? That's fair.
And let's face it; when it comes to video games being re-released for a more international audience? Promoting legal digital copies over legal physical copies for sale is a good way to go. (For all I care? Physical copies are usually best for consoles, as well as of course, being nonprofit backup copies of games for computer platforms.)

And now? Here's a list of ideas for the franchise that WOULD work well!
Expanded customization of monsters
With the idea of color customization for monster-kind? That would be a smart move.
Gender differences
For some monsters that are PHYSICALLY genderless? Their genders would simply be identified by nature.
As for certain monsters, like pixie, golem, durahan, and the like? Body figures and basic body shape would show the gender difference, as a clever idea.
And to make it more interesting? All monster races would be more gender neutral; that way, there are male and female variants of ALL monsters; even with different subraces.
Kept clean
A little suggestive is fine, but keep it clean and nowhere beyond the PG rating, just in case.
For example; if you're still a little concerned about modesty? Handle it in a more creative way; make it so the monsters that can be created (ALL of them) have barbie doll nudity as an advantage...that way, wou can get way with MUCH more, while still having a clever use for PROPER boudnaries!
And...that's basically it, for making LATER games in the more interesting!
