Some artists make journals that there's person(s) that impersonate them, scamming bidders and commissioners for money. Always cross-check the artist's information with that of the person writing to you

luckily I haven't encountered this yet (at least no one has complained to me that someone is pretending to be me), but I made this post in advance so that people would be warned and not fall into this trap, not even just with me, but in general
