Does Christmas mean anything to you?

As time goes on it seems all the more pointless. Shopping starts earlier and earlier -crappy gifts come out of the woodwork -lesser in quality and more expensive it seems.
Somehow in the mass marketing of the holiday, the 'PC correctness' of the Holiday that tries to include and not offend everyone, I've pretty much lost that spirit of wonder. Also, buying gifts for my family is expensive and usually they're gifts they could buy for themselves, as well -just seems pointless.
Can anyone remind me what it is that makes this holiday special?

Best flavors of the year. Halloween is a close second. Thanksgiving a distant third.
Also, trying to sleep all day while the family keeps calling every few minutes shouting Feliz Navidad and talking for hours about how they're having a great time. -_-
Of course me personally I think we should spread joy and happiness all year round but still ,least folks are willing to do so this time of year. I think that's what it really boils down to.
Spreading Happyness and joy to others. Me personally ,seeing how happy I've made someone either by helping them or simply giving them something that makes them happy ,that is my favorite gift to have. Knowing I've brought joy to someone.
One saying I once heard ,"If you don't have Christmas in your heart ,you'll never find it under your tree"
I won't go into how Christmas started of course, just what it's supposed to be these days, which it no longer seems to be. But I only feel that way cause I spend all my Christmases alone.
