People you should have a listen to

I was interested in
wolfhound's recent (incredibly in-depth) study into how to get music noticed on FA. We have two musical titans in the form of
foxamoore and
mandoandy, who are both amazing, but in a site primarily dominated by visual art it's often difficult for new musicians to get much attention. So I wanted to point out to anyone reading this some people with only a few musical submissions who I think need to get a few more listens...
IkodoMoonstrife - He's been around a while, but I only just heard his Doom-like version of Nightwish's "Wish I Had An Angel", so I wanted to mention that. If anything, it's proof that synthesized versions of rock can work well after all.
LadyDuckula - Has two music submissions at the moment - a really quite beautiful piano piece, and (what I'm really mentioning her for) a NES version of the Eastenders music!
Aden - Another piano piece that sounds genuinely like it could be something by Sonata Arctica. (More on his old account).
Faemandra - People in Germany seem to be born with some sort of power metal gene, and he's definitely got it - the unfinished version of "One step" sounds slightly rough at the moment, but has the makings of something of real professional quality.
AZ-Solii - I don't know what his name means, but listen to the only submission he has up - it's a Castlevania-like choir piece. And according to the study, classical is one of the most difficult genres to get noticed for...

I haven't actually looked at your music yet - I'll have to do that some time.
I have a small correction to make though: My study did not find any significant influence of musical genre on the number of views. There are a few such tendencies in the data, but statistical analysis showed that they do not differ significantly from the random variation that can always be expected to occur in such lists. The p=0.21 means that there is a 21% chance of the differences being entirely random, and given the amount of other factors that I also checked, this chance is actually much higher.
Anyway, it's great that you also try and give the musicians on this site a little more exposure. There certainly are a lot of deserving ones.
I expect that the amount of favourites it receives would have some sort of bearing on the number of subsequent views too, as the visible icon would then be preserved on the favouriter's page, giving it more 'life' as an icon outside the author's page. But that depends on the rate that the favouriter adds to their list as well.
On my name, it's actually cryptic. When broken apart and thought out a little, it reveals one of my physical traits. In this case, there are three parts: AZ, Sol, and the two "I"s. The letters AZ are the first two letters for the Spanish word Azure, which translated, is blue in English. Sol refers not necessarily to the sun, but rather its light or brightness. Lastly are the two "I"s, which can be interpreted as "Eyes".
Put that altogether and you've got Blue, Bright, and Eyes.
I don't mean to keep the meaning of the name a secret, I just like the way it sounded and the way it refers to me as a person :P.
Anyways, I greatly look forward to listening to the people you've mentioned.
Thanks for the mention, and sorry that I only have one piece for you (and even that one's not done O..o). Difficult to say how much time I'll have for things besides school in the near future, but I'll try. ^..^
