After spending the past Monday through Friday at the hospital, I finally ended up getting discharged Friday night after a lot of improvement.
I still have no idea what exactly caused the infection was that I was being treated for, but it's safe to presume it was primarily in my GI tract.
Still, I didn't end up being given prep or doing the general surgeon colonoscopy there. As they decided it would be much safer to wait until the infection cleared and inflammation subsides, and have it done by the local gastroenterologist downtown instead. I am paw beans crossed that there is nothing extra concerning found and things can slowly go back to normal.
I'm still on oral antibiotics at home and have too follow a strict time schedule for 2 antibiotics that conflict with 2 diet supplements, with 3 others being as needed etc. So I'll be feeling a bit queasy/off from the side effects of that the next few days but it's nothing too terrible. (Water tastes both sweet and metallic at the same time though it's weird.)
I sincerely appreciate all the support and concern. I would have been way more stressed out had I had to juggle even more commissions on top of all this.
Extremely special thanks to these fine fuzzies for the support:
ziggypig
darcin7
shapesthefox
shadowfox014
gregoro
chillsahoy
poila
furchael
sevbot45
multispatialrending & Coiléar
As well as a special thank you to all my current and past patrons.
While I take it easy recovering I will try to get the last few commission things I had done before the weekend uploaded on the patreon in the next day or two now that I'm home finally. I will let you guys know when I am feeling well enough to resume streams again but I assume it won't be for at least until I've finished up the course of antibiotics next week.
Thankyou for reading!

I don't know what kind of dietary restrictions you have. but Cipro and Flagyl are going to play merry Hell with your gut flora, making you extra unhappy. Greek yogurt, kefir, kombucha and fresh, uncooked sauerkraut juice will help repopulate your gut. Avoid dairy that hasn't been fermented with live cultures.
Pay very close attention to your water intake, and urine output. You don't need to measure how much pee if you don't want to, keep track by weight. 1 liter weight 2.2 pounds. Get a baseline after drinking a full liter and a meal, then write it down. If you see your weight going up, or you notice you aren't peeing much, tell your doctor immediately.
Ciprofloxacin is moderately toxic to your kidneys, and so is Flagyl. On their own, they put stress on your kidneys, but the combination makes it very likely your kidneys will stop working, and you won't notice until you wake up one morning with legs that look like telephone poles, and feet that look like soccer balls.
My penis and testicles looked like grapefruit.
And no.
No, I was not happy about that.
I was very active and in good shape when this happened to me, so all the fluids in my system didn't dump to my lower extremities until the last minute. And once that happened, the entire vascular system of my lower body got blown out. I now have venous insufficiency, tertiary edema, tissue paper skin, and I get cellulitis if I get a scratch, bump or insect bite.
Do your best to keep mobile. Walk around, avoid stairs if possible, and take your time. Trust the hospital and your doctor, BUT VERIFY. If you have any concerns, don't hesitate to call, regardless of the hour or day. Because you've been discharged to home care, you are now responsible for your own treatment. Be polite and patient with your medical staff, but also be proactive and persistent.
Otherwise I just wish you a swift FULL recovery.
