May 2024 Writing Update: Attempted Bread Sabotage!
So hey everyone, this is gonna be an interesting one this month! It's perhaps not as frikkin crazy as my previous ones, like Exploding Toilet Mania, but it sure does have an interesting twist!
So this month I was really optimistic about my writing prospects since I'd fixed my CPAP again and gotten back onto the wagon again with my sleep schedule. And for the first week of the month, I was going strong too! I noticed a few little bouts of stomach ache, but I got several thousands words done at the start of the month.
Then those little bouts of stomach pain stopped being so little. Then they started getting more frequent. Then they began happening at night, especially on weekends. This became a problem when I started waking up at 1 or 2AM with bouts of violent diarrhea that would keep me awake for 1-2 hours just shitting my brains out and wishing for death. My second weekend in May was totally derailed by this shit, since my sleep schedule was totally ruined by being up half the night shitting like a brown Niagara Falls. The sleep disruption would then put me right back into brain fog and I'd be too out of it to write more than a few hundred words at most.
This continued through weekend 3, and on top of a really dumb self-inflicted car scare. I did a big dumb by not tightening my gas cap that friday after filling the tank and this caused the usual Check Engine warning light menagerie to come on. Cue a panic attack while going 70mph down the highway. I didn't realize it was my own damn fault until later, when I found the gas cap loose. Lingering adrenaline still tainted my brain and compounded the violent shitting episodes even more.
It wasn't until the following weekend that I put two and two together. I'd chalked the first few illness episodes up to eating some bad pizza, but the episodes kept going even when I ate comparatively healthy meals. Then I realized that every time I got sick it was after I'd been eating sandwiches, regardless of the type of meats used, and that the loaf of bread I'd been using was... unusually squishy. I never realized it could be the bread, I'd never had bad bread before now. I took the loaf out and inspected it, and what do you know? The center of the loaf was only like a step or two up from raw dough!
It shocked me, AFAIK almost all breads sold in supermarkets are baked in factory ovens that are pretty consistent. To fuck up a loaf that bad would have to ruin like an entire mountain of the stuff right? I had to remind myself that there were probably tons of other bad loafs that made people sick but never got reported because it wasn't as bad as salmonella or something. So I threw the loaf out and BAM, the illness bouts stopped cold.
Now normally this is where I'd say I'd missed my goal and apologize...but well, there's one last little surprise twist for you here! In the 4th and final weekend of the month, after I'd recovered my sleep schedule, I went ham and blasted out a fuckton of words and met my goal! I'd say it was a christmas miracle if it wasn't the middle of summer! Let's see how it breaks down shall we?

Huh, so how about that! Right away you'll notice that I ended up deciding to split the Renatoy story's ending into two chunks instead of just one. Fucker was gonna be 30K words by the time it was done, and although that's fine for Crossing of the Paths, I felt like it might be a bit too much for a story that was originally intended to be a bit more bite-sized! Especially since that chunk ended up having 4 chapters, and it had a VERY clean and neat wordcount split point of 14K and 16K words per chunk if I divided it right down the middle. So I took my magical author axe and bifurcated that fucker right down the middle.
It's still not edited of course, I really had to write like a madwoman to get it done and I wanna let Jarn have time to review it and give feedback before I post it, so it'll have the same little bit of delay that chunk 1 did. But hell, it's gonna be worth it! I wanted to give Jarn some extra meat for putting up with the month of delay after they paid me so well for this series! And hey, I'm super glad I did because holy crap, the Renatoy story has turned out AMAZING if I do say so myself. It's some of my favorite new wholesome work I've done in a long time. Once I have it all edited up I'll post both chunks together and you'll have a nice big meaty mountain of kinky rubbertoy goodness to feast on!
I sadly didn't end up getting much else done this month, as I was singularly hyperfocused on getting that Renatoy story done for Jarn. I DID end up rewriting a bunch of COTW:D&L Chunk 4 and all of Chunk 5 since there were parts I'd written in my sleep deprivation haze that didn't live up to my standards. But I'm only crediting net wordcounts or I'd have to recount the entirety of chunk 5, and that's kinda cheating IMO. I also just dropped the roulette spin slot since the Renatoy story dominated my focus so hard and that's totally fine, I figure it's fair to be able to drop secondaries without feeling guilty about it.
As for our ongoing totals, we've definitely made up some ground! As of last month our deficit was 13,727 words. This month we exceeded our quota by 3,148 words, so our deficit has now shrank down to 10,579 words. Still a bit of a climb left to go, but I'm confident next month will offer me a good opportunity to take a big bite out of it!
So what's next month gonna look like? Let's lay it out!
JUNE 2024 WRITING GOALS
Well, with the completion of the rough drafts of the Renatoy story, that means outside of editing I've completed my queue of all commissions! I still need to edit the Renatoy story, which is gonna be a primary goal this month, but other than that, it's time for just me-time!
I mean, I COULD go back to my telegram chat again and open private comms for people there a second time if I really wanted the money. But to be entirely honest, I think it's about time I took a break from writing stuff for other people and focused entirely on writing just for me for a few months. Especially since July is when I start my move and I know that's gonna fuck up my writing. Best not to commit to projects for other people when I know that shit's on the horizon.
Therefore, I commit to a moratorium on private comms for the duration of June, July, and August.
June will just be a month for me to have fun, July and August will be reserved for the move. I also plan to try and blitz out a FUCKTON of writing during the Independence day time off from work in the beginning of July, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's set up the objectives shall we?
-PRIMARY OBJECTIVES-
-Editing of Fabricating A Rubber Renatoy - Chunk 2: 14,287 words to edit
-Editing of Fabricating A Rubber Renatoy - Chunk 3: 17,133 words to edit
-Rebirth of Lightest - Chunk 2: Expected a minimum of 5,000 more words left
-Editing of Rebirth of Lightest - Chunk 2: Expected 15,000 words to edit
-Mutagen Origins - Chunk 3: Expected 10,000-15,000 words
-Editing of Crossing of the Paths - Book 2: Darkness & Light - Chunk 4: 35,646 words to edit, plus an unknown amount of revising.
-SECONDARY OBJECTIVES-
-Editing of Mutagen Origins - Chunk 3: Expected 10,000-15,000 words to edit
-Arina is All - Chunk 12: ANY amount out of a final total of 15,000
-Crossing of the Paths - Book 2: Darkness & Light - Chunk 5: Any wordcount! May include some revising.
-ROULETTE SPIN SLOT!!! - Any wordcount! Ideally 5,000-10,000 words to catch up on the stretch goal
Total Expected Writing Wordcount for June 2024: 25,000-45,000 words
Total Expected Editing Wordcount for June 2024: 82,066-97,066 words
Phew, so this is again pretty ambitious, at least on the editing side! I've been piling more and more stuff onto my to-edit pile over the last few months without managing to keep up. Steel Apotheosis was really only treading water on my editing pile before, and it's since grown a lot. That aside, you'll notice I actually shoved Arina is All down from Primary to Secondary, and instead put Mutagen Origins back onto the queue as a Primary. That's primarily because I got some huge inspiration for it lately, while my brain has been kinda lacking on Arina ideas. Both projects have been languishing a long time, admittedly, so I am just gonna focus on the one I have more energy for.
I am however VERY determined to FINALLY finish Rebirth of Lightest Chunk 2 this month! I finally got some work on it this month, but I bet I can finish it now that Renatoy is done. Especially since my muse has felt quite receptive to working on Rebirth lately too. So my Primary Objectives are pretty loaded this month, but I'm quite confident in my ability to clear them!
There'll be a lot of good stuff getting posted as I finish all this editing, so keep your eyes open! Both SFW and NSFW story goodness is heading your way, so stay tuned! For now though, see you in July!

ahhh the ever popular "gross evap leak" code as a mechanic anytime a car comes to me and there is an evap leak code the first thing i do is ask the customer if they recently filled up 90% of the time its a gas cap as for the bread yea most is made in a central bakery for the store though some are still made in store like the stuff that is where the cakes and what not are so its not un heard of for there to be mistakes

OP
Still, I bet people are overjoyed with relief when ut turns out that they just need to screw on their gas cap instead of paying a $1000+ repair bill!
wolvesone
~wolvesone
sad thing is repair shops still charge the "diag" rate if they come to me personally i wont charge for it which might be why i am not in a shop anymore hehe i refuse to screw people like that
LadyLightest
~ladylightest
OP
Oh yeah. I had made a diag appointment initially when the lights came on, knowing full well they were gonna ding me at least $150 for telling me the code. I'm just too anxious to handle this shit on my own. So when I noticed the gas cap loose and then the code went away after I tightened it, I immediately canceled the appt. No need to drop a C note and a half for nothing, lol

~wolvesone
you should buy a cheap code reader just in case the light comes on again they are easy to use you just need to find the on board diag port under the dash and plug it in you can get readers on ebay amazon or even sometimes at walmart depending on the make model and year of the car heck i have one in my tool chest that i never use because it does not work on my 2002 intrepid (wrong data protocall) if your car is new enough that it uses the CAN data it would work for you

OP
Yeah that's always been an item on my "To buy" list for many years now, it's just ended up on the same procrastination pile as so many other things that my neurodivergent brain keeps forgetting to get to, lol

~wolvesone
what kind of car do you have like make model and year

OP
2009 Toyota Prius. It's a bit of an older gal but I keep its oil changed and drive it gently, so it generally treats me well!

ahh ok then the code reader from walmart i have that does not work for my car would work for yours because it uses the CAN protocol this is the reader https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-To.....t%22%2C%22values%22%3A%5B%22In-store%22%5D%7D%5D&from=/search
