New Update (Details Below)
First, I want to thank everyone who offered their support. I didn't expect so much and am very fortunate as well as grateful for it. Earlier today was the service for my grandmother. I was sad but at peace knowing that she is not experiencing pain. I was mentally preparing myself before I lost her but was sad. I know that she is at peace. She and her husband (My late grandfather) used to own a popular grocery store, a home, and a farm in Cuba. After Fidel Castro took over, they lost everything. My grandmother took the chance with her daughters moving to the U.S. If she never took that chance, I don't know where I'd be today or if I'd even exist. Although I can't hug or kiss her physically, I believe that I will again.
There's another reason why I haven't been responsive as well as writing with my commissions. My job became stressful when a summer research program that I supervised wound up in the deficit. Long story short, a former Dean of a community college's honors program promised a $15,000 grant to my boss' boss that would cover expenses (stipends, materials, etc.) where it was revealed that this grant never existed in the first place. This former Dean also left the college without notice where I had to resolve everything to the best of my ability between several parties to retrieve funding. The deficit happened when one professor mentioned that they never received their materials after several requests for materials, so I signed off to award them additional money. At the time, I thought money was available when no one rejected or responded to my queries, then I got criticized where I constantly explained over and over again - THIS is what happened. Recently, I believe a director took sympathy and paid off the deficit after I explained everything. In other words, I didn't know whether or not I would be fired for a program that lacked funding when it wasn't even my fault and I was left to do every single thing to make it happen. In the end, I thankfully still have a job.
I also had to help a few international students receive approval for an I-20 to obtain an internship in the U.S. The international student office had a shift in leadership who required students to have an internship count as a requirement to earn a Bachelor's degree. However, no Bachelor's degree in my university requires students to complete an internship, but a loophole allowed international students in the Honors program to enroll in an Honors internship course where they could get the I-20. I also have to work on a syllabus as well as requirements for said internship course when this can be the only way for many international students to receive an I-20 to obtain an internship in the U.S.
Don't forget that if you want a chance to know how "The Bad Guys" were SO GOOD that night, you have until June 2 @ 11:59:59 PM EST to enter the raffle (Details are on https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56508521/).
Thank you all again so much for your support. I hope you look forward to more written and commissioned work from me.
