Maybe it has something to do with fat allocation or something about biology. But maybe some artists aren't used to puffing up the face, which is a shame cause fat faces are nice.

That does strike me as odd every time someone has a gut that could rival a wrecking ball, but then their face doesn’t have any softness to it. It looks more like they’re just heavily inflated

Then why make a journal about it? It just seems a bit weird that you would go out of your way to make a journal about this if it didn't bother you.

Because I can and do like to share my thoughts.

I do notice that sometimes! i do think of it like people just decided where their fat goes, how saggy or firm it is.

This happens more with firm fat! as it's usually drawn round and HUGE body parts, and to appeal the style of them being huge, they draw their heads small and not that fat, it's just a matter of style and anatomy choice i'd say.. Like females having Massive breasts and a huge butt, yet no belly and a normal face.

I do notice it as well. I'll be honest though, for some characters, it actually looks alright without the fat cheeks and stuff. But I personally love characters who have fat cheeks and double chins. Just more to squish. 😊

The wonders of distribution of thickness.

For me personally its just preference, especially for my own dragonsona. IRL I am pretty chubby and have a really rounded fat face which I just feel very self conscious about, so I guess I prefer my idealized self with a slim normal looking face ^^; I have nothing at all against chubby faces though, they're cute.
